Nature’s Cry

What would happen, if the birds refused to sing

If they all flew away, never to return again

Does nature have a prayer, do people even care

People all caught up, in their own affairs, umm

How would it be, if we never saw a tree

No leaves to catch your eye, floating on a morning breeze

The simple joys we’d miss, or never realize

Nature’s wonders lost, miracles denied, oh, tell me

Where would we go, if the flowers would not grow

No blossoms in springtime, after the last lite snow

Seasons never change, just the same each day

Morning’s fragrance gone, what would people say

What would people say, tell me

Would people cry, if no rain fell from the sky

Do they even wonder why, the streams all cracked and dry

There would be no fish, life cannot exist

All just emptiness, deaf to nature’s plight, woe, so tell me

Would she forgive, could she forget

The god-awful things we did, our beautiful planet

O’ Can we learn from this, or will we care to try

A prayer to let life live, this is Nature’s Cry
